The importance of Fun!

Being productive is something our culture puts lots of emphasis on. As mentors, parents, teachers, coaches and friends -we all strive to support youth in being productive, happy contributing members of our community. This article, "THE IMPORTANCE OF FUN; WHY HAVING "FUN" IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS "PRODUCTIVITY" is a great read to remind us of the importance of fun. The article explains why having fun is important, and offers suggestions for how we can model fun, and set time aside for fun with youth - for the well being of our whole community.

Adopting a Mentoring Mindset

In November 2022, mentors from Twinfield Together & Cabot Mentoring Programs came together to learn more about how having a "mentoring mindset" is helpful when we are being there for youth. The four principles of a mentoring mindset are:

I see you
I've got you
I'm here to help
We're in this together
